Brass token made during the end of the 18th century. It is a gaming token made in the style of a George III gold Spade Guinea. These were produced in reasonable quantity for use in card and other gambling games. A date of 1701 is commonly found on these and as this date is impossible as George III reigned 1760-1820. This incorrect date prevented their use in counterfeit. In more recent times this token has been re-used as mine check. With B 89 stamped on the obverse side.
