Object is an incomplete copper alloy penannular brooch. (Possibly of Fowler type H3/ Booth type K2). The brooch has a circular cross-section frame that is bent round to form a loop. At each end of the frame is a flattened circular terminal, the face of both discs has a circular recessed cell that may have been filled with enamel, none of which is surviving. The reverse of both the terminals are flat and undecorated. There appears to be remnants of a type of lug on each end of the object, which may be the remnants of an attachment. There appears to be wording on either side of the object, possibly reading 'GRIG?' on one side, but it is difficult to make out the letters and words. The object weighs 7.8g, is 23.93mm in length, 14.69mm in width and is 3.83mm thick.

The linen smoother consists of a concave base, which is very smooth and has scratches from wear which has made the glass become opaque. The handle consists of globes of glass (6 in total) to aid with grip, the top part of the handle has broken but its transparent in comparision to the base.
