A complete lead-alloy cloth seal of post-medieval date, probably c. AD 1650-1700. The seal would have been a two-part seal, circular in plan with a short connecting tab between the two discs. Both sides are now very worn, but the lower portion of the obverse (rivet disc) may show a lion statant or passant, facing left. The seal is worn and warped in places, particularly the connecting strip, and its surface has a light grey patina. The button is circular in plan and flat. Both the obverse and reverse surfaces have a mottled green and brown patina, and remnants of gilding. It is sub-circular in plan and bi-conical in section, with a central circular perforation, 9.4 mm. in diameter, passing through the whorl's interior.
