An incomplete cast copper alloy bow and fantail brooch, of Roman dating (50 to 150 AD). Approximately 75% of the brooch is present. The head loop and pin are missing. The wings are complete with a rolled complete casing holding the axis bar for the hinged pin. From the images it is difficult to ascertain how much of the pin survives in the cut knotch on the reverse. From the top / head of the brooch a small head loop extends, now incomplete.
