A possible halfgroat of Elizabeth I (1558-1603). The obverse is quite worn and nibbled, but the two dots to the right of the bust are still visible, suggesting it is probably a halfgroat of Elizabeth I (sixth or seventh issue: 1582-1603). North Volume 2 (1991), p. 137 no. 2016. Unclear initial mark. Obverse description: Crowned bust left with two pellets Obverse legend: [E D G] ROSA SI[NE] SPINA Reverse description: Square shield on long cross fourchée dividing legend Reverse legend: CIVITAS LON[DON] Diameter: 16.77 mm; Weight: 0.70g
