Post Medieval tin alloy fragment of a robed probably religious figurine. The figure is hollow and is extant from the waist up with much of the reverse missing from old breaks. The surviving part of the reverse juts out behind the head forming the top and one side of a hollowing rectangular shape, it is not evident if this forms part of a surface mount or perhaps a pack worn on the back. Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative rearhook brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Type 4.c. The C-shaped wings are incomplete due to old breaks. Each exhibits a diagonal engraved line. On the reverse are traces of iron corrosion from the missing spring or axis bar. The stub of the rearhook projects from the centre of the head. A central sunken ridge runs down the centre of the bow from the bottom of the rearhook. The bow terminates in an old break. The lower bow, foot and catchplate are missing. Incomplete, distorted, gilt buckle plate, rectangular, broken where folded widthways with pin slot and recessed for frame, back part missing, with the sides rolled onto the reverse. Plate pierced by five rivet-holes, four of which retain copper alloy rivets with flattened globular heads, one with a rectangular rove on the reverse. Extant length 33mm. Width 28mm. Later 12th-13th century.
