An abraded sherd of Roman samian pottery, probably a 2nd century AD Gaulish Dragendorff type 37 bowl.
The main feature of this body sherd is the moulded decoration around the outside. The scene depicts a bull butting left; the forelegs of a second quadruped can be seen immediately above and the hind legs of a third animal (or possibly human arms?) lie to the left of the bull. In addition to the zoomorphic decoration, there is moulded grass along the bottom of the panel and, to the right of the bull, vine-like scroll. A ropework border marks the bottom of the panel and below this is …

A rim fragment from a late Medieval or Post Medieval cast copper alloy vessel. The rim is slightly thickened with a flat top created by a D shaped swelling on the inner side and would have flared out from the body of the vessel.
Crudely made cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from c. AD 1200-1700 for serving and cooking (Butler and Green 2003; 7,15, 22).

The outer sides of both oval loops are widened with a row of seven pointed knops running along the entire outer edges. The widened strap bar is plain. A central boss extends through this panel to the reverse side of the pendant. Further surface decoration is unclear due to corrosion…

Part of a cast copper alloy leg from a Medieval to Post Medieval vessel. The leg is flat in cross section with convex rounded edges and a flat front and back. The leg terminates in a rounded but plain end with no clear 'foot', at the top is an old break. There are traces of sooting on the front.
This is possibly an example of Butler, Green and Payne (2009, pg 4) Type 'a', lacking the foot. This type was widespread in the Medieval period with examples known into the early 17th century.

Post Medieval cast copper-alloy asymmetrical buckle frame. The frame has one rectangular and one D shaped loop. About 20% of the rectangular loop is missing to a break. The D-shaped loop has a groove along the outer edge creating a thinned border. At the centre of the D shaped loop the inner side projects inwards in a point forming a wider area. The strap bar is narrowed. The pin is missing.
Whitehead (2003:91) illustrates a similar example, no.570, without the groove on the D-shaped loop, which he dates to c. AD 1575-1700.

The decoration is in a single panel which follows the shape of the mount. It has a design which may be zoomorphic, the lines suggesting a crouching beast facing left.
