Lead alloy decorative bridle boss, probably 17th or 18th century. The object consists of a cast circular boss, decorated both around the rim and substantial portion of the inner area with a floral pattern. The centre circular section of the boss appears to have no decoration. The reverse of the boss shows the remains of the two attachment points with part of the rusted iron fixing point still in evidence on one of the two. It is probable that all or at least the centre section of this item would have been 'silvered'.
