An incomplete copper alloy probable jug handle, of Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 300). The back face is slightly concave and curvilinear to accommodate the body of the copper-alloy vessel, to which it would have originally been soldered. The front face of the terminal is rounded and moulded to depict a forwards facing head. The face is sub square in shape with almond shaped eyes, which have been silver plated with circular depressions for the pupils. A hollow foot from a Roman vessel. A similar example was found in excavations at Colchester (Crummy 1983: 73, no. 2051 fig. 76), where it was suggested to be possibly a foot from a bowl. See also BH-1911F3 and NLM-A2CB67.The foot is pelta-shaped with a central incomplete groove.

A fragment of sheet copper alloy binding from a wooden vessel of probable Roman date. The fragment measures 46.8mm by 25mm by 1.1mm and weighs 2.8g. It is decorated with repoussé motifs consisting of a single line of dots along the top and bottom and running transverse zigzags in between. The upper edge has been folder backwards and several of the adjacents dots are perforated. A broadly similar fragment has been found in a Roman context at Woodeaton, Oxfordshire (Bagnall Smith 1998, p. 179, no. 17.4, fig. 11).

A probable cast copper alloy tankard handle fragment of late Iron Age date. The oval slightly curving fragment measures 36.1mm by 30.2mm by 8.1mm and weighs 25.3g. It appears to be the central section from a tankard handle which was originally broadly similar to example h on plate 230 of Jope's 'Early Celtic Art in the British Isles'. A rim and partial body sherd from a wheel thrown Roman vessel. The sherd is a fragment from an item of kitchenware, a reasonably large storage jar. The sherd is of a local type of greyware, possibly "salt and pepper fabric" from the Ecton kilns. The sherd has a rough dark grey exterior with frequent small black sandy inclusions. The exterior is also decorated with a subtle ridge and grooved effect shortly below the waist of the neck. sherd from a medieval vessel. The sherd appears to be part of the base and wall of a large saggy bottomed jug. At the angle between the base and wall is a thumb or finger indentation, and this would probably have extended around the base of the vessel for decoration. The fabric has large inclusions of calcite grit and was possibly organically tempered also. The fabric is of a grey colour in profile and an orange/grey colour on the exterior.

Two sherds of Roman samian ware. One is a rim sherd, probably from a form 30 or form 37 bowl (de la Bedoyere, 1989, page 84; figure 51; Webster 1996, 42 fig. 27, 47 fig. 32). The original rim diameter was 240mm. This sherd is pierced with a circular hole (4.5 mm in diameter) 4 mm below the rim. Chafing around the edge indicates that this hole was bored some time after completion of the pot. It is likely that the hole represents the repair of the pot at some point during its life. Report by R Hobbs: Around 15 fragments of a squat coarseware storage jar with green copper alloy staining on the inner surface where the pot has been in direct contact with the coins. The fabric (pink grog tempered ware) is dull pink with a heavy grey core and ill sorted inclusions of grog and mica (Tomber and Dore 1998, 210).
