An incomplete copper alloy probable jug handle, of Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 300).
The back face is slightly concave and curvilinear to accommodate the body of the copper-alloy vessel, to which it would have originally been soldered. The front face of the terminal is rounded and moulded to depict a forwards facing head. The face is sub square in shape with almond shaped eyes, which have been silver plated with circular depressions for the pupils.
