A fragment of a cast copper alloy vessel foot cast with a prominent central rib; the foot has a flat tip and reverse and bevelled sides creating a trapezoidal cross section. Probably from a posnet or skillet of 16th-18th century date.

A hollow foot from a Roman vessel. A similar example was found in excavations at Colchester (Crummy 1983: 73, no. 2051 fig. 76), where it was suggested to be possibly a foot from a bowl. See also BH-1911F3 and NLM-A2CB67.The foot is pelta-shaped with a central incomplete groove.
