A shell-tempered rim fragment from a storage jar of Iron Age to Early Roman date.  The fragment is broadly rectangular in shape and tear-drop in profile with a rounded everted rim. Abundant angular calcareous inclusions <7mm amongst grey reduced fabric on exterior and break, and oxidised light brown on interior surface and part of exterior. The fragment measures 90.4mm long, 57.5mm wide, 23.9mm thick and weighs 130.16 grams.

A post-Medieval stoneware Bellarmine jug (also known as a Beardman/Bartmaan jug). The body of the vessel is sub-globular, with a flat base and conical neck (damaged). A speckled brown glaze covers most of the surface of the vessel, running into the lower quarter, which is off-white. The typical moulded human mask is situated at the junction of neck and body; it has a ladder-like mouth, 'flower pad' moustache and corded beard. A fragment of a medieval to post-Medieval cast copper-alloy vessel. The piece, which represents foot of a cauldron or similar vessel, has a triangular cross section and splays towards the base , which is concave.The break at the top is irregular.Traces of a black sustance adhere to the corroded surfaces. Dimensions: height: 28.4mm; maximum width: 46.2mm. Weight: 101.36g. Butler, Green and Payne suggest that this form of foot was common on medieval vessels, although examples are known from as late as the 17th century (2009: 4).

A rim sherd from a Roman colour-coated jar, possibly of Hadham ware, dating from the 3rd or 4th century AD. The everted rim rolls outwards from the wall of the vessel, with a slight groove at the point of the transition. The fabic has a dark grey core, orange surface and has been slipped in a patchy orange and brown, with an overlying wavy line of white slip on the inner surface of the rim. A rim sherd from a Roman flanged bowl. This vessel probably dates from the 3rd or 4th century AD and is of Hadham colour-coated ware, its form imitating the Dr 38 form of samian bowl. The flange curves downwards from the outer wall of the vessel, with part of the damaged rim projecting above. The core is light grey; the surface is mid-orange and has displays abundant mica inclusions. The inner surface of the bowl and upper surface of the flange retain traces of an orange slip, whereas the outer surface of the vessel has been coated with a brown slip. The pot has been wheel-thrown and has a pronounced groove on the underside, a short distance in from the edge. The fabric is light yellowish-orange and has no visible inclusions. A rim sherd from a Roman dish of South Midlands shell-tempered ware. This pottery was probably produced at Harrold, Bedfordshire and dates from the 3rd to early 5th century AD. The rim itself has a flattened upper surface and has an angled outer face, at the base of which is a shallow groove. The wall of the vessel would have angled upwards at approximately 60 degrees from the now-missing base. An abraded sherd of Roman samian pottery, probably a 2nd century AD Gaulish Dragendorff type 37 bowl. The main feature of this body sherd is the moulded decoration around the outside. The scene depicts a bull butting left; the forelegs of a second quadruped can be seen immediately above and the hind legs of a third animal (or possibly human arms?) lie to the left of the bull. A cast copper-alloy cauldron leg of probable early post-medieval date. The object is sub-rectangular in section and widens in thickness towards the bottom. It depicts an animal claw and has five faint vertical divisions at the bottom, which represent the toes. It measures 47.2mm high by 40.6mm wide and up to 18.4mm thick.
