A late Medieval to post Medieval cast copper-alloy hexafoil stud with a long pointed and square-sectioned shank and a flat head, which has six rounded lobes. Circa 15th - 16th century.

A cast copper alloy Medieval heraldic stud dating to the late 13th - 14th century. The plate is of "heater" shield shape, 38.3mm in length and slightly convex. It depicts five escallops on a field of blue-green enamel and the blazon can be possibly described as Azure, five Escallops Or. The centre of the reverse has a bent fixing lug 6mm wide.

A complete post medieval copper alloy stud dating to c. AD 16th - 17th century. The head of the stud is discoidal, with a convex top. The centre of the head is raised in a circular shape, with a a central perforation. Surrounding this is two raised collars, each getting lower towards the edge. Around the edge is a solid border. The reverse of the head is concave, with the shank projecting out from the centre. This is square in cross section and narrows towards the terminal end, which is rounded. A complete but worn Roman copper alloy stud, dating to c. 12 BC - AD 120. It is possibly part of a horse gear fitting.The head of the stud was probably originally circular in shape, it is worn and broken and now ovoid in shape. Part of it has been bent towards the reverse, and cracked. On the reverse is an integral shank which is circular in cross section, and narrows to a rounded point. There is no decoration. An incomplete copper alloy Roman stud, dating to c. 1st to 2nd century AD. The stud is in the shape of a lion's head, with the snout projecting outwards in the centre, two oval eyes above, and the mane of the lion surrounding the centre and running round the edge of the stud. The section of the stud with the mane on is less steep than the central snout. The stud is very worn, and broken along the edges. A complete copper alloy stud dating from the 16th to the 18th century, possibly a furniture mount. The head of the stud is domed, and has moulded decoration. The decoration radiates out from the centre and is foliate in design. There are five oval shaped petals, surrounded by a curved border, in between each of these is a raised straight line.
