The pin head is globular, 6.7mm in diameter and decorated with two bands of ring-and-dot elements (one of five above the other of four) with another ring and dot on the apex. An complete copper alloy Roman hair pin of group 6 type, dating from the late 1st to early 2nd century AD. The hair pin has a discoidal head, which narrows to the shank.There is raised collar below the head, with a groove either side. The shank is circular in cross section with a bend in it at about forty five degrees, narrowing slightly towards the terminal rounded point. The pin has a dark green patina.
