A copper alloy Roman mount, possibly from a horse gear fitting, dating to c. AD 43 to 120. The mount is circular, and domed, the reverse in concave. Around the edge of the mount is worn and broken, with small projections. Running around the edge of the mount is a raised solid border, this is 2.9mm in width. There is a crack that runs from one side of the edge to the centre of the mount. The inside of the mount contains brown black corrosion. The mount measures 21.6mm in diameter, 7.0mm in thickness and weighs 3.05g.
A similar mount can be seen in Nicolay 2007, page 376, number 82.160.

A copper alloy mount, possibly dating from the medieval to post medieval period, c. AD 1350 - 1600. The mount consists of a rectangular strip of copper alloy that has been folded over, the folded sides do not line up and are not equal size. At both edges of the strip is a central perforated circular hole, one of which still contains the circular copper alloy rivet. The mount has a brown patina with patches of orange and green. On the surface there is the remains of gilding. The mount measures 29.6mm in length, 18.9mm in width, 7.9mm in thickness and weighs 6.22g.

A copper alloy, medieval, zoomorphic, mount, possibly from a vessel or casket, AD1050-1200. The object comprises a broken looped terminal, below which is a zoomorphic beast head, from which emerges a tapering neck which terminates in a bend and break. The head is double waisted, narrowing below the nose, widening for the eyes and then narrowing behind them before widening again to form the ears/horns. A post medieval, copper alloy, pentagonal mount, AD.1500-1600. The mount is in the form of a five petalled flower with each petal separated by a linear sepal. In the centre there is a perforation and in each of the five petals surrounding it. The mount is slightly domed with a concave back. The back is undecorated.

A possible fragment of a medieval mount, dating from c. 13th to 14th century. The mount is an irregular shaped copper alloy sheet, with convex raised sections around the seperate rivets, and in the centre of the mount. Two sub triangular sections extend out from the central rounded section, these have circular rivet holes in the centre, one of which still contains the copper alloy rivet. The other side of the mount is flat and straight, and is probably a worn break. The mount has a mid green patina, and measures 19.9mm in length, 12.9mm in width, 7.1mm in thickness and weighs 0.84g.

A complete copper alloy mount or fitting with integral pointed lugs, dating from c. 17th century AD. The mount is lozenge shaped, with a lozenge perforation in the centre. The inner and outer edges are raised, with a pellet border contained within. There are patches of gilding remaining on the surface. On the reverse are two integral pointed lugs, these are placed either side of the perforation. These are worn and broken. The mount has a mid green patina, and measures 27.1mm in length, 19.3mm in width and weighs 2.34g.

A complete copper alloy medieval bar mount dating from c.AD 1350-1400. The bar mount is quartrefoil in shape. It has moulded decoration with a raised square with a circular indentation in the centre. Surrounding this on all four sides are circular sections with a raised six pointed star in each. In each corner of the quartrefoil is a rounded projection. The bar mount projects outwards on both sides with a double collared rounded end with elongated knop. There is a circular rivet hole in each. The rivets are seperate and now missing.

A complete copper alloy medieval mount, most likely from a sword mount, dating to the 16th century AD. The main body of the mount is shield shaped, with one edge cusped, it has a triangular projection in the centre, and at the two corners. Below this edge is a circular perforation, at the narrowed end of the shield there is possibly another but it is full of corrosion. The mount then widens, on one side is a circular attachment loop, on the other there is the worn edges of possobly a second loop which is now missing. A complete, Roman, copper alloy, belt fitting, AD.300-450. The object comprises a rectangular plate with two rivet holes pierced through it. At one end of the object is a narrow strip that has been bent over to form a suspension loop. This terminates in a square tab which is pierced by a single rivet hole. The front of the plate has two parallel lines running down its length, these lines are the same width apart as the tab forming the loop. The object has an even green patina.
Similar examples in Nicolay 2007, pl.45, no.100.7 and 100.9. these are associated with later military belts.

A fragment of a copper alloy, Roman, openwork, belt mount, AD.120-250. The object comprises the corner of a rectangular openwork mount, It is L shaped with worn breaks. Much of the interior design has been lost, with only two fragments of the curvilinear design remaining. One of the curved design fragments creates a small trapezoidal openwork section. The back of the piece is undecorated except for a single worn rivet positioned near one of the breaks.

An incomplete, copper alloy, Roman, leather mount, probably from a horse harness, AD.120-250. The object comprises a circular disc with a central boss, surrounded by a shallow recess which is bordered around the outer edge with a raised border. This is the same height as the central boss. The recess would probably have held enamel. The mount has a concave back, created by a flange that runs around the edge of the object, angled backwards. In the centre of the back is a single projecting rivet.

An incomplete, copper alloy, Roman mount, possibly a leather mount from a cavalry harness, AD.120-250. The mount comprises a domed boss with concentric rings surrounding it. There are at least 4 rings including the boss with three shallow grooves dividing them. The edge of the mount is extremely worn and a lot of material has been lost suggesting the original diameter was substantially wider. The back of the mount has a single projecting rivet, this has been bent inwards probably in the attachment process. There would likely have been a second rivet that has been lost.

A complete, Roman, copper alloy, phallic mount, AD.43-150. The mount is formed of a tapering shaft that is triangular in cross section. At the widest point of the shaft there are two opposed hemispherical knops, one upon either side to form the testes. The back of the object has two projecting rivets to allow its attachment to a leather belt or harness. The back of the shaft is also slightly concave, creating a hollowed area.

An incomplete, copper alloy, fragment of a probably Roman mount, AD.43-450. The object comprises a curved zoomorphic neck with a styled bird head terminal. The base of the neck is an old break. The head has a circular recess for an eye and some worn diagonal lines above representing feathers. The head tapers down to form the beak. The mount is decorated on only the front side, the back of the object is coarse and undecorated suggesting this was not visible in use. The object has a dark green patina.

A complete copper alloy Roman horse harness mount, dating to AD 120-150. The body of the mount is an oval or rounded crescent shape, with a circular perforation along one edge.
