A complete cast copper alloy cosmetic mortar of Late Iron age or Roman date. The object is in good contion, with some pitting and corrosion to the edges. The object is of a type described by Ralph Jackson, of the British Museum, as End Looped with Knobbed Terminal. It consists of a curving V sectioned body which narrows towards its terminals. One terminal is circular, or knobbed. The opposite terminal narrows and curls downward, creating a circular, open suspension loop.
