An incomplete medieval copper alloy single loop buckle, dating from c. AD 1250-1400. The buckle frame is D shaped, and D shaped in cross section. On the outer frame a single collared knop projects from the centre. The pin bar is recessed. The pin bar is oval in cross section. It has a dark green patina, and measures 23.6mm in length, 15.1mm in width, and 2.91g in weight. A similar buckle can be seen in Whitehead 1996, page 21 number 85.

Possibly Medieval to Post Medieval (late 14th to 17th century) buckle pin: In plan, the copper alloy pin is a long slender rectangle with a rounded blunt tip. The opposite terminal has a a rounded penannular loop which would be fixed around the bar of the frame. On the exterior surface of this loop a casting seam remains, but not on the stem of the pin. The stem is an asymmetrical hexagonal in section with obliquely angled file marks on each face. The surface of the pin is in fair condition and has a dark green shiny patina. The frame is asymmetrical with one trapezoidal and one (incomplete) round loop with projecting lobes at the corners. The trapezoidal loop is decorated with transverse notches on its straight edge. A medieval cast copper alloy single loop buckle dating to c. AD1300-1400. The buckle loop is D shaped, with a wider outer frame. This is decorated with moulded scrolled pattern. The pin bar is narrowed and offset, the pin is a single piece of copper alloy wrapped around the bar. It narrows to a rounded point, and has a light green patina. The buckle frame is a light brown colour with patches of darker red brown. The surface is very worn. It measures 26.9mm in length, 19.9mm in width, and weighs 5.59g.  Similar buckles can be seen in Whitehead 1996, page 20, numbers 66-68.

An incomplete copper alloy D shaped medieval single loop buckle dating to AD 1350-1400. The pin is missing. The loop of the buckle projects out in an arch shape from the pin bar, which is recessed. The outer loop has moulded decoration projecting out from the centre, with rounded knop projections at each end with five grooves running across the loop in between the knops in a recess. An early medieval object, possibly a buckle tongue, dating from c. AD 500-700. The tongue is zoomorphic in style, the creature has a long curved snout with a rounded groove underneath to sit on the buckle bar.  There is a smaller rounded groove next to it. There is an incised circular spiral on both sides of the snout. The upper surface of the frame is sub-D-shaped in section. Integral to the strap bar is a forked spacer. A complete Medieval to Post Medieval cast copper-alloy double loop oval buckle dating c. AD 1350-1650. The buckle frame is broadly D-shape in cross section with bevelled inside edges and equally spaced moulded angled grooves on each outer edge. The pin bar is rectangular in cross-section. Attached to this is a pointed pin with integral loop made from a single sheet of copper-alloy. The underside of the frame is flat and undecorated. The surfaces have even mid-green patination. The buckle measures 40.6mm in length, 39mm in width and weighs 11.50 grams.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Medieval to Post Medieval double loop annular buckle dating c. AD 1350-1650. The frame is sub-D-shape in cross-section with bevelled sides and a flat underside. The pin bar is narrowed and broken. Attached to it is a pointed pin made from a D-sectioned plate. The entire object is worn and corroded, with mid green and light brown patination. A copper alloy rectangular buckle plate, decorated with incised vertical grooves and a central, horizontal bar with a punched zigzag and dots. Three damaged bars extend from the plate. The longest of these has part of the ring that held the rivet joining the plate to the leather. On the opposite side the plate is folded over to hold the, now missing buckle frame. The object is very likely to date from the Medieval period (1150-1350 AD) despite showing similarities with Late Roman to early Medieval buckle plates.
