A complete Medieval copper-alloy two-piece book clasp of the pierced and hinged type (Howsam 2016, type A.1.1). The terminal element of the clasp has a convex D-shaped plate with a central perforation to fit over a peg on the opposing clasp element. From the front and angled perpendicular to the clasp, projects a small zoomorphic looped terminal with a drilled hole through the open jaws of the centre. A bent post Medieval copper alloy book clasp, 61.7mm in length and of Howsam type A.3 (hooked fishtail). The clasp has a flat hook at one end and a flared terminal at the other which is decorated as a plume of feathers, with a waved edge and incised decoration, in the form of incised feather patterns of chevrons running to each point of the wave. A bent post Medieval copper alloy book clasp, 41.6mm in length and of Howsam type A.3 (hooked fishtail). The clasp has a flat hook at one end and a flared terminal at the other with two rivet holes, one of which retains traces of an iron rivet. The surface has traces of now illegible incised decoration. The reverse has traces of an iron plate attached to the hook end. Circa 16th-17th century.

A complete copper alloy Book Fitting of late Medieval to Post-Medieval date (AD 1400-1600). The object is square in plan with a recurved hooked terminal at one end and a flared terminal at the opposing end. The flared terminal has two notches and two semi-circular knops forming a central portion and two arms. The flared end retains two rivet holes at the corners with the remnants of both rivets still in situ. A copper alloy medieval to post medival book fitting, dating from AD 1600-1750. The fitting is a long rectangular strip, and bows slightly, there is a slight bend almost half way. At one end is a worn break, and was possibly split end. There is orange brown staining. At the other end there is a collared bifoliate projection, with a circular perforation in each projection. The fitting has a red brown patina, with patches of dark green on the surface. It measures 61.7mm in length, 15.1mm in maximum width, 2.7mm in thickness, and weighs 8.00g.

A complete medieval copper-alloy book clasp of hinged type (Howsam type A.1.1). The plate is made from a piece of sheet bent in half, with lateral recesses cut at the corners of the fold. It has an incurved attachment end with two separate copper-alloy rivets retaining a concreted substance sandwiched between the two halves of the plate. There is possible longitudinal engraving on the reverse of the plate.

A copper alloy book clasp with cast decoration featuring a rose surrounded by four pellets and flanked by linear pattern of alternate lis, flower and pellets and a fleur-de-lis in a zig-zag pattern. One rivet hole, concealed by corrosion, sits close to the flared terminal. At the opposite end, the hook is shallow but complete.

Part of a copper alloy book clasp. The clasp was made from a single flat rectangular strip of copper alloy folded over and riveted together. The fold has broken, leaving two riveted strips. The upper, slightly wider strip terminates in an expanded end, with a scrolling edge split into two parts by a V-shaped notch. Each of these parts has a stamped dot and circle motif (now barely visible) with a central motif above. This upper strip has a narrower curved strip forming the fold one end, now broken. A cast copper alloy Medieval book clasp of Howsam type A.1.3. The main part is roughly hexagonal with an uneven, swirling surface decoration. The reverse is flat. There is a circular hole through the centre of this part. The upper part is in the form of a rectangular loop, which has a groove along each short side, running to a bar. At the opposite end, the object terminates in a knop which is pierced with a circular hole that runs from side to side. This knop is now partly broken. The object appears roughly made.
