An incomplete, wrought iron, Roman, probable, anvil, AD.43-450. The object comprises a cuboid block of iron, the top surface appears slightly domed from repeated striking. The sides appear to be fairly parallel, though there is a slight taper from the top to the bottom.. The object has a fairly even dark black patina with patches of orange oxidation. The sides of the anvil are pitted, probably from corrosion after deposition.
