Flat central oval plate with two opposing protrusions one of which has been drawn out and curled under to form a loop, the other tapers and appears to have a missing 'tip'. The plate is heavily gilded and decorated with four equally spaced bulbous headed rivets with expanded tops resembling 'buns'. Each of the rivets have a shallow cross engraved on the top and also appear to have been gilded. The rivets are hammered flat to secure them on the reverse of the plate. No parallel has been found.

Object type: FINGER RING
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Milton Keynes
Workflow stage: Published Find published
A band of copper-alloy bent out of shape, now forming a crude figure 8. The ring would presumably have been circular originally. It is very crude and it is unlikely that this would have been worn as a finger ring. It is 2 mm wide and 0.5 mm thick. It is more likely that this formed some form of an attachment ring. Such crude copper-alloy rings are very difficult to date.

Object type: CASTING WASTE
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Milton Keynes
Workflow stage: Published Find published
A copper-alloy sprue cap waster - waste from the casting process. The concaved outline of the sprue cap is quite clear and the object has a single runner. The waster is sub-oval with dimensions of 20 by 16 mm. It measures 17 mm from its top to the bottom of the runner. Such finds are common from Bronze Age metalworking sites and hoards, although they are well known from other periods also. It is rather difficult to place a date on this artefact without any additional evidence.

Copper-alloy mount. The mount is triangular with a circular knop on the top. It is 23 mm long and 9 mm wide. The circular knop is 5 mm wide and is decorated with five vertical raised lines. The obverse of the mount is slighty curved whilst the reverse is flat. From the reverse extends an attachment spike, bent over to run down the mount. Object type: MOUNT
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Milton Keynes
Workflow stage: Published Find published
A copper-alloy mount of uncertain date. The mount is cut from a very thin piece of metal. It appears to take the form of a highly stylised canine face, either a fox or a wolf. The eyes are formed from two openwork sub-triangles. Sub-rectangular knopped ears are located to either side of an angular band that runs horizontally above the eyes. The muzzle is formed as the general sub-triangular form of the mount reaches its apex. The angular form of the object is unusual and no parallel for the artefact has yet been found. Its date is therefore uncertain.

A roughly C-shape iron object that may have been joined originally into a circle. This consists of two strands of 3mm thick wire that open to make four almost elliptical holes. The finder feels that this object could be a finger ring but although iron finger rings are known from Roman sites these are very different from this example. Despite extensive research it has not been possible to discover what this object is.

Cast copper alloy mount, which was possibly a scabbard mount. This object consists of a large round "button" protruding from one end, a narrow long shaft, and another small possible knop or fixing attachment at the other end. The top of the object has a larger rounded top end and a smaller rounded opposite end, with a ridged shaft of the same width, continuing over the top of both ends. It is unclear exactly what this object is; however, the manner of the ends suggests that this object could have been used to secure an item to leather or to connect two elements together. This is cons…

Part of a socketed copper-alloy arrowhead (probably) of uncertain date. The socket, which appears to survive to its original length, is of circular section, tapering towards the top. At the basal opening it measures 6.8mm in internal diameter. This opening appears to be flanked by a pair of low flanges, which gradually dissipate as they extend upwards. Approximately 10mm up, the sides of the socket flare into a damaged, 'leaf-shaped' head. Overall dimensions: 31.2mm long, up to 13.9mm wide and 9.4mm thick. Weight: 7.27g. Iron spearhead, in quite firm condition but with part of the socket including the proximal end missing. The slightly bent leaf-shaped blade is narrow and elongated. Both its faces are flat, i.e. without a midrib. The socket is not split. Extant length 148mm. Width 17mm. The slenderness and the small size suggest the object is not a theatrical object, but that it may be "ethnographic", from somewhere outside Europe. The date is uncertain.

An incomplete copper alloy possible buckle frame, dating from the Roman to medieval period, AD 200 - 1500. The fragment consists of the outer edge and one of the sides of the frame. The outer frame widens and is angled, it is decorated with four ring and dot punched motifs. The frame narrows along the side and ends in a rounded knop. It is worn and it is unclear if there is a break where a possible pin bar may have been originally attached. On the opposite edge there is a worn break just as the outer frame starts to narrow.
