Object type: FINGER RING
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Milton Keynes
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A copper alloy, finger ring of uncertain date, AD.43-1900. The object comprises the band of a copper alloy ring with a single straight break through it. The band is D shaped in cross section and of relatively even thickness and width around its circuit. The break likely represents the soldering point of the ring that has corroded and given way. The ring lacks any diagnostic features or markings and out of context is effectively impossible to date accurately.

An incomplete copper alloy possible buckle frame, dating from the Roman to medieval period, AD 200 - 1500. The fragment consists of the outer edge and one of the sides of the frame. The outer frame widens and is angled, it is decorated with four ring and dot punched motifs. The frame narrows along the side and ends in a rounded knop. Iron spearhead, in quite firm condition but with part of the socket including the proximal end missing. The slightly bent leaf-shaped blade is narrow and elongated. Both its faces are flat, i.e. without a midrib. The socket is not split. Extant length 148mm. Width 17mm. The slenderness and the small size suggest the object is not a theatrical object, but that it may be "ethnographic", from somewhere outside Europe. The date is uncertain.

Object type: ARROWHEAD
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Milton Keynes
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Part of a socketed copper-alloy arrowhead (probably) of uncertain date.
The socket, which appears to survive to its original length, is of circular section, tapering towards the top. At the basal opening it measures 6.8mm in internal diameter. This opening appears to be flanked by a pair of low flanges, which gradually dissipate as they extend upwards. Approximately 10mm up, the sides of the socket flare into a damaged, 'leaf-shaped' head.
Overall dimensions: 31.2mm long, up to 13.9mm wide and 9.4mm thick. Weight: 7.27g.
The form of this piece is reminiscent of Late Bronze Age s…

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A roughly C-shape iron object that may have been joined originally into a circle. This consists of two strands of 3mm thick wire that open to make four almost elliptical holes. The finder feels that this object could be a finger ring but although iron finger rings are known from Roman sites these are very different from this example. Despite extensive research it has not been possible to discover what this object is.
