Earliest to Early Iron Age iron socketed axehead, probably of 8th to 5th century BC date The axehead is symmetrical in form and is incomplete, missing part of one face and side and is a small example (with a length of 88.6mm and a weight of 116.5g). The mouth appears to have been sub-rectangular (with a surviving external width and depth of 32mm and 27mm respectively and 3mm - 11mm thick). Prehistoric flint flake, probably of Neolithic date, c. 4000 - 2000 BC The flint flake is a comparatively large example (at a length of 95.8mm, a width of 76.4mm, a thickness of 25.8mm and a weight of 142.8g). The flake is has a large patch of cortex surviving on its dorsal surface with a linear flaw through the surface, which is not evident on the ventral face. The striking platform shows evidence of core preparation, prior to striking and suggests a hard-hammer technology. Middle Bronze Age bronze palstave of Group III, Low Flanged, Broad Blade form and possibly of Sleaford variant type, as defined by Schmidt & Burgess (1981, p136)[1]. The palstave is near-complete, missing the part of the loop and with peripheral damage and is comparatively small (at 127.6mm and with a weight of 243.0g).
