An Early Medieval copper-alloy stirrup mount, dating to c.AD 1000 - 1100. Williams (1997) Class A,Type 9. The stirrup is sub-trapezoidal in plan and rectangular in section. The upper edge exhibits a projecting lobe with a central rivet hole for attachment. Below is an anthropomorphic facing mask with recessed eyes of differing shapes, a central moulded trapezoidal nose and two transverse mouldings indicating the mouth.
