Copper alloy mount. Cast plate bearing the three-dimensional concavo-convex openwork inmage of a proto-heraldic lion walking left with tail above its body and four ball-shaped paws. Like NLM-AF619C this falls short of the proto-heraldic form of those buckle plates ascribed to the early 13th century, though this is less at variance with their character than that object.
