Single loop ring buckle. The frame has a slightly irregular thickness around which the blunt pin can move freely. This buckle would probably have been used to secure belts at the waist or thigh and had no buckle plate because the bunching of material around the frame gives the end of the strap extra strength. This item may, however, be an annular brooch.
