Silver ingot fragment and fragment of white metal casting debris from the Carnforth area, Lancashire
The find consists of two items: a) a fragment of a silver ingot; and b) what appears to be a molten fragment of casting debris. Both objects were found on exactly the same spot as a small Viking hoard found in the 1990s, the Carnforth or Tewitfield Hoard, and are most likely unrecovered pieces from it.
