Post Medieval zoomorphic copper alloy strap fitting with an elongated shield shaped plate and a hook at one end dating 1500-1700AD. The obverse is decorated with a wide incised band in the form of a groove which goes diagonally from top left to bottom right and is flanked by narrow raised lines. Two small attachment holes have been punched through the front, one is about 7mm directly below the hook and the other is about 20mm directly below the first. Part of a post medieval copper alloy 'crotal' bell. About a third of the bell is present.One edge of a transverse sound slot can be seen, which terminates in circular sound holes. Half of a sound hole can also be seen on the upper side of the bell. There is a semi-circle incised on the bottom of the bell, with incised lines radiating out from it.
