18th/19th century guide ring (part of horse harness). It was made from cast iron, but coated with cu-alloy and possibly tinned (there is a very small patch of tinning left on the surface). The obverse convex and decorated with a moulded 'swirl' while the reverse is concave and plane. The iron hinge/fastening mechanism is missing.
