Possibly a cast copper alloy button-and-loop-fastener or a strap slide dating from Late Iron Age to the Roman period, c. 1st - 2nd century. The object comprises of a roughly triangular shape with rounded ends/trilobed. On the back are two broken stumps which could be the remains of a loop which would have been used o affix it to a strap - or they could have been the neck of the fastener. The front and back of the strap slide are both undecorated. The loop would have two points of attachment on the back which are shown as vaguely raised eroded points.
