Openwork symmetrical bronze mount. Central design of adjoining opposed C's decorated with incised lines each containing an openwork 'eye'. Perforated oval projection to either. Flat on the back. Resembles a face with prominent eyes if positioned vertically. Decorated in abstract Ringerike-style motifs and, as such, broadly 11th century in date.

Openwork symmetrical bronze mount. Triangular in plan with one incuse side. A pair of countersunk holes at the centre. Pierced with single small hole at each apex. Small spur-like projections to either side of the apices.

A cast lead alloy spindle whorl dating from the Early Medieval to the Medieval period, (AD1066-1500). The object is circular in plan and biconical with a large central circular perforation. The internal perforation measures 9.5mm in diameter. One face of the object is decorated with a series of moulded lines which radiate outwards from the perforation. Between each line are two moulded pellets. The opposite face is decorated with runic script. This report concerns a hoard of Anglo-Saxon silver pennies found on farmland near Preston, Lancs on March 14th, 2010. The coins were discovered by Alan Reynolds, while metal detecting. The precise find-spot is recorded, but it has been agreed that this will only be identified as 'near Preston' for public purposes. The coins are all of a single type, the CRVX type of Æthelræd II, king of England (978-1016), issued in the 990s. A copper alloy sword pommel of Early Medieval date. The object is of late lobed form, probably of 10th or 11th century date. The base, which curves upwards at the ends, would have rested upon a concave pommel bar. The interior of the pommel has an oval opening at the base and converging sides towards the oval aperture at the apex of the pommel which accommodated the protruding sword tang. A complete copper alloy zoomorphic strap end dating to the early medieval period (c.AD 750-950). The strap end is of Thomas' Class A, Type 1aiii. The strap end is sub-ovate with a zoomorphic terminal at the closed end and a flat attachment end with two rivets for fixing, one rivet survives. The object is cast in one piece though with the attachment end split into an upper and lower plate to allow the strap material to be fitted.
