A copper duit from Zeeland ( now part of the Netherlands )
Obverse: ZEELANDIA 1740
Reverse: [LUCTOR ET EMERGO]; Crowned arms of Zeeland.
The reverse legend translates as STRUGGLE AND ARISE which is the motto of Zeeland. Zeeland is in the south western corner of the Netherlands. These copper duits were struck from 1714 till 1797.
