A copper alloy coin; probably a contemporary copy of a Roman nummus dating from AD 300 - 400. Originally thought to be a styca, closer inspection suggests that the visible part of the design is a crude forward facing figure, with a cross on the right, rather than the central cross and surrounding letters that would be expected on a styca. The coin is thicker than would be expected for an official issue.
