Post Medieval lead alloy flat back figurine or mount depicting the Temptation of Adam and Eve. Largely complete but there a few break scars evident. It has hard to be precise on dating, partly due to a lack of close parallels, but the style is reminiscent of the period from c1550 to c1750 AD, though it may be a few decades older or newer. Length 94mm, width 73mm, and weight 163grams.

The figure is in the form of a woman bent over with her bonneted head between her legs, and her skirt pulled up to reveal her buttocks and genitalia. The workmanship is crude, and the object is worn. The facial features are worn and damage across the face and diagonally up the leg probably occurred due to the plough. The reverse which is bent across the centre where it has been damaged, probably due to the plough, would have been flat and may have been attached to another object or surface. The object h…

A complete lead alloy anthropomorphic figurine of unknown date. The object is moulded on the front and flat on the back. The figurine takes the form of a representation of a child. The figure is cast in one piece and is relatively crude in both shape and design. The relatively crude style combined with his pose might indicate an early date, possibly in the Roman period. However, it is equally possible that it may belong to a more modern period, perhaps in the 17th-18th centuries, when Classical art was a popular cultural influence. Therefore, until such time as a close parallel is ide…
