Modern painted metal cross-like object. The metal is probably spelter or a lead alloy. It has a black surface treatment, probably something like an enamel paint. Two coterminous pieces have survived, the rest of the object is lost. The central element of both pieces is a raised decoration in the form of the staff of Thoth, the ancient Egyptian often depicted with the head of an ibis and carrying an ankh and the staff shown on the cross. Gold signet finger ring of modern date (c. 1854 - 1931 AD). The finger ring has a rectangular-sectioned hoop which tapers away from the bezel. The narrowest point of the hoop has been cut in a straight, transverse line. The bezel of the finger ring is in the shape of a square shield and contains a dark-green inlay with an recessed design of a boar, pierced by a sword, with a downwards-pointing arrow above and below it, all within a shield; this is the arms of the Swainson family. Modern copper alloy general use artillery cap badge. The pressed metal openwork depicts a light field gun with inscribed swags above and below, surmounted by the King's Crown. The badge is corroded and damaged, but complete. The swags would orginaly have read UBIQUE above and below QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT. Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt translates from the Latin as Where Right And Glory Lead and Ubique as Everywhere. This is still the Royal Artillery motto. Copper alloy commemorative badge dating to 1926AD. The badge depicts the inaugural Manchester Civic Week which took place from Saturday 2nd to the Saturday 9th October 1926.

Lead alloy spinning toy/spinner/ buzz wheel or whirligig dating from the 19th or 20th century AD. The toy is circular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross-section. It consists of a disc with a partly serrated outer edge. It had ca. 15 cogs (spikes), all now rounded off on the apex, or folded over. There are two string holes in the centre. There is no decoration on either side of the whirligig.

A copper alloy pub token from the Sun Inn Preston. It is a circular token with a representation of the sun on one side - a circular face with rays radiating outwards in all directions part way to a pelleted borderaround the circumference of the token. The other side has the same pelleted border around the circumference and the legend: SUN INN PRESTON around the border and MAIN SPIRIT WEIND across the centre. The Sun Inn was in business from around 1790 to 1940 and this token probably dates from the latter part of the 19th century. Dimeter 24mm, Thickness 1mm, Weight 2.9g.

Possibly the silver frame of a late 18th century seal matrix or 'fob seal'. The frame is very fragile-looking, with half of it broken off (breaks visible on the reverse). The frame was made from silver wire with a clear front and back. It appears that half of it is missing, with all four strands being held together by the 'silver binding' at the top. The bottom loops would have been soldered or attached to the fob seal or swivel seal matrix.

An incomplete and misshapen silver dental plate, probably of Modern date (c. 1825-c. 1950). The plate is complete but there is slight damage along the edges. It is crescent-shaped with a semi-circular cut-out where it would have been hinged on the wearer's surviving tooth/teeth, possibly his canine/front molar on the lower right or upper left. There are no spikes or any other surviving pins for holding any artificial porcellain teeth, but instead, there are 13 small circular drilled holes/perforations which may have been the locations for the artificial teeth.
