Early modern lead or lead alloy seal dating to between c1880 and c1890AD. It is decorated in low relief with a continuous raised circular border on both sides with THE QUEEN'S SEEDSMEN in three lines across the middle and with script around the border. This reads WEBB & SONS at the top. At the bottom it would probably have read SALTNEY STOURBRIDGE (or CHESTER). The other side depicts their trade mark shield with REGISTERED around the border to one side, and TRADEMARK to the other. It is a rarer variant on the common Webbs seal (which says MANURE MANFRS instead of THE QUEEN'S SEEDSMEN)…

The reverse reads '*N[*...] / N12II[...] / 1761'.The surface of the seal has a light cream coloured patina.

Incomplete early modern lead alloy bag or sack seal dating from the 1750s. It was either miscast or one half of it has worn away. The obverse inscription reads N[...] / SB121[...] / 175[...], the latter probably displaying the year in which it was used. The reverse reads 'No 2'. The seal was probably used on a bag or sack containing seeds, compost or guano and was discarded after use.
