Cast-copper alloy Coventry half penny token. Late 18th century. Reverse inscription 'PRO BONO PUBLICO' with an image of Lady Godiva, date worn away normally date inscripted 1792. Obverse is unusual instead of the normal elephant with tower on his back the penny depicts just a lone standing tower, little off center. Inscription on obverse reads 'COVENTRY HALF PENNY'

19th century ferry token made from cast cu-alloy, complete except for the small suspension loop at the top which is missing. The finder wrote to Liverpool Record Office and P Keogh got back to him offering the following additional information: "T.B. Maund and Martin Jenkins discuss ferry tickets in appendix 5 of volume 2 “Mersey Ferries”. They state that season tickets were referred to as “contracts” and were used by “middle Class” customers rather than working people. Contracts were available for 3, 6, and 12 months. A copper-alloy token dating from late the 18th or early 19th century. It is very worn and the exact date of the token can no longer be made out. However, although corroded one can see that the obverse depicts a hooded bust facing left which is meant to be a druid. The bust is surrounded by a laureate leaf design around the circumference of the coin. The reverse depicts the (very worn) scrolling letters PMC, which stands for the Parys Mine Company. Cast lead stud/disc. Irregular in form. Front face demonstrates a central pellet in relief with a surrounding circular form. The reverse is plain. Possibly a miss-cast token. The site of recovery of the object could suggest however that this object is Roman in date and could therefore be a lead pot mend. These were used to hold broken vessels together before glue. A hole would be drilled into a broken vessel along the line of the break and then molten lead poured through which would harden on cooling (Cuddeford 1994 page 51).
