Grey Slate Probable Pencil. Turned rod of slate; a tapered end bears smoothing on four opposed faces and a rounded end. Residual turning lines appear at this point. The rod becomes thicker beyond a stepped edge to the 'point', which confers a slightly bullet-like appearance. Broken. Suggested date: Modern, 1800-1900. Length: 28.1, Diameter: 5.6mm, Weight: 1.33gms.

Copper alloy fragment, possibly from an early tambourine type instrument, probably 19th century in date. It comprises a 3-sided rectangular frame with a bar half way down the long sides connecting the two sides. On this bar are two circular discs which would have been free to move and rattled to make the noise.

A lead medallion of modern date. It is circular in shape and flat and has a bust facing left on the obverse with the partial legend []BRDNORL[] surrounding. The other side has a picture of a man leaning on a column with a dog sitting at his feet. The partial legend []TIBI VOTA QUOTA[] surrounds this which appears to be part of a line from Virgil's The Bucolics.

A lead alloy cut out probably from a commemorative medal possibly of a young Victoria. The object has been cut on all edges around the head and neck of a female figure wearing a crown. An incomplete copper alloy fob seal matrix of late post-medieval to modern date. The fob seal is rectangular in plan with a clear dark glass intaglio inset into the centre. The glass is dark green although translucent. There is a red substance adhered to the glass. The reverse is domed and decorated with linear incised lines radiating form the centre where the handle would have been attached. Very worn button or ornamental fitting. It is circular and made from cast cu-alloy, displaying the setting for a semi-precious stone or glass centre-piece in the centre of the circle. Between and centre piece are moulded circles and dots, framing the green glass stone in the middle. Both the setting and the stone are chipped and very worn, probably not vouching for an old age but rather cheap-ish make. The finder wrote to Liverpool Record Office and P Keogh got back to him offering the following additional information: "T.B. Maund and Martin Jenkins discuss ferry tickets in appendix 5 of volume 2 “Mersey Ferries”. They state that season tickets were referred to as “contracts” and were used by “middle Class” customers rather than working people. Contracts were available for 3, 6, and 12 months. Small cast cu-alloy coffin which is composed of three different parts: casket, lid and (possibly) headplate. All three parts are held together by a small cast cu-alloy rivet at the head end of the coffin and can swivel around it on U-shaped perforations at their edges. The 'head plate' is thinner than the body and lid of the coffin and may have protected a message or similar that was wedged between the plate and the lid. Three light blue/turquoise coloured beads, probably of modern date, i.e. dating from c. AD1750-1900. They are small, complete and undamaged, probably made from plastic or glass. Two of them are round, possibly of a necklace or bracelet, the other oblong. One has a larger perforation than the others, but all were made by same process. They probably have come off a piece of a child's jewellery.
