A damaged and incomplete post-medieval cast copper alloy rowel spur (17th century). Part of the rowel box, the neck and part of each side remain; the rest of the sides and both terminals are missing to old breaks. The two arms of the rowel box are D-shaped in section, flat on the inner side. They are splayed and both truncated. Below the rowel box the neck, of angle-neck type, is a rounded U-shaped curve with simple moulding where it joins the spur sides, and another moulding at the junction with the rowel box. An incomplete copper alloy rowel spur, of Post Medieval dating (AD 1700 to AD 1900). The spur consists of one almost complete arm, an incomplete one, a neck and a partial rowel box now broken. The arms have a flat cross section. The arms form a 'U' shape with the neck, but now the arms have been pushed closer together. An upward curve of the arms still remains. From the outside of the heel, a neck extends from the midpoint, with a circular cross section., with an incomplete parallel tine at the end. This would have formed the rowel box. An almost complete Medieval/Post Medieval cast copper alloy rowel Spur,circa 1450 AD - 1700 AD. Both arms survive, is "D" shaped in section and is at maximum width at the centre back. The neck extends upwards and outwards from this point to the Rowel Box, which survives in good condition but the rowel is missing. The spur shares similarities with PUBLIC-761145, HESH-AC5077 and SUSS-EF66E6. The length is 105mm and the width is 80mm.
