Late Post Medieval copper alloy nail. It has a rectangular head that is as wide as the shank. The shank itself is sub rectangular and solid. Copper alloy nails were often used for similar purposes as rivets. Nails are difficult to date and in this case the condition of the nail indicates it was probably manufactured between c1700 and c1900 AD, but it could be a very well preserved Roman nail. The length is 75mm, head width 15mm, maximum shank thickness 7mm, and the weight 16.24g. Similar objects on the database include NLM-55C923, NLM-3C6713, NLM-0BE012, and KENT-2E87F7.
