Possibly a copper alloy key for the tuning of musical instruments, dating from the medieval period, that is the 14th or 15th century. The hammer is a clawed hammer with a solid hilt at the top and a socket at the bottom. The socket end is damaged. There is a small loop for suspension at the top. The hilt is decorated with three moulded collars, one towards the head and the other two between where the hilt is solid and the socket starts..
