Fragment of a worn and clipped silver Spanish one real 'pillars and waves' type cob of Philip V (1700-1746), dated to the 1720s (possibly 1723) on the reverse. The mint letter and assayer letter, on either side of the 'I' in the top line of the reverse, are too worn to make out, but the coin would have been minted in Lima, Peru or Potosi, Bolivia or Mexico. The reverse central field that remains has two upright pillars with foliate capitals and waves formed by curved lines beneath them. Complete, Post-Medieval, silver 2 Reales coin of King Philip V of Spain (AD 1700-1724, 1724-1746), dated to 1721 on the coin's reverse. Crowned M mint mark (Madrid). The obverse features a crowned squared shield containing the royal arms of Spain. On the left side there is an R for Reale. Below this there is a crowned letter M mint mark, for Madrid. The right side has a Roman numeral II, denoting the denomination of 2 Reales. Below this is the assayer's initial of 'A'.
