The surface of the object is very worn and rough to the touch. It was probably decorated with a simple moulded decoration on the obverse, but most of it has been worn away,

An incomplete cast copper alloy rowel spur, of Post Medieval dating (c. 1600 - c.1700 AD). The spur is incomplete, consisting of the rowel box, but missing the sides and the rowel. The neck of the spur is ovoid (egg shaped) in shape, with a length of 11.13mm and a maximum diameter of 7.56mm. An old break is present at the top of the neck, and is oval in cross section. An incomplete cast copper alloy rowel spur, dating from c. 1600-1700AD. The spur would have been Y-shaped in plan, but only one near complete arm, neck survives. The breaks are old and corroded. The neck is bifurcated and the terminals wide. The arms (so far as survives) have straight D-section sides, one is broken close to the neck. There does not appear to be any decoration on the surface. An incomplete cast copper-alloy spur of Post-Medieval date. It is almost complete but the rowel is missing due to old breaks. The sides are d-shaped in section and taper from the thicker centre of the object towards the terminals. These are heart shaped with a collar separating them from the sides. There are two holes in each terminal for attachement, the top one on either side containing rusted iron loops. At the centre of the outer face is an integrally cast rowel box.

An incomplete cast copper alloy post-medieval spur arm and terminal, dating from the 17th century. The spur arm has three openwork elements of a rectangular, triangular and semi-circular form. Both the roughly rectanguler and semi-circular ornaments have two circular perforations, the two latter being for the rings and mounts that would have attached the leather strap. Copper alloy object possibly a Post Medieval spur rowel: The copper alloy rowel is in the shape of a seven-pointed star. The arms are sub-oval in section with angular corners. Two opposing arms are leaning, with one edge being convex the other concave. There is a central circular perforation. The rowel is slightly abraded with traces of a mid green patina and traces of a black substance possibly enamel but it could be paint. It measures 38mm diameter and weighs 2.98g. An incomplete copper alloy spur. Cast rowel spur comprising a curved heel of lentoid section with a collared housing for a steel spindle (lost) at either end, and with a short angled rowel box springing from an oval panel at its mid point. It is uncertain whether the sides end in terminals, or whether a further extent of metal spur sides hinged on the remaining spindle housings. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1600-1700. The length is 125mm, the width is 48mm, thickness 13mm and the weight 45.48g. The object is similar to records LVPL-93581E and NLM-9ABE3D.

Copper alloy spur fragment. Both arms are incomplete although a large part of one remains. The arms of the spur move away from each other in a gentle V-shape. They are bent upwards in a high arch that would have terminated in a loop, this terminal has been truncated from both arms, this is an old break which has worn smooth on the longer fragment.
