A lead bi-conical spindle whorl decorated on both sides.The central hole is eight mm in diameter. The decoration on one side consists of ten raised oblique lines radiating from the central hole to the edge, forming cells; each cell holds a raised pellet. The opposite side is decorated with a raised cross,each arm of the cross contains three oblique lines and there are three pellets in each of the quarters formed by the cross. The body which is in good condition has a dark brownish patina and looks to have not had much use.

A complete bi-conical lead spindle whorl decorated on both sides.The decoration consists of a number of raised lines running from the central hole to the edge of the body forming separate cells, each cell occupied by a single pellet. The central hole is 8.5 mm in diameter. The item has an overall flattish appearance possibly due to bad casting and/or the use of a poorly made or worn mould.

A lead cast plano-convex spindle whorl of uncertain date. It has a shallow domed face with a flat underneath. The shape of the spindle whorl corresponds with Coppergate type A1 (Walton Rogers, 2007) which were used from the 6th century. However, it may also be medieval. The lead has a pale grey patina. Compare YORYM-B717FB.
The circular hole is 7.51mm with straight sides and is slightly offset to one side.

A cast lead alloy spindle whorl of unknown date, probably Early Medieval to Post Medieval, about AD 400 - 1600. It is Coppergate type B1 (Walton Rogers, 2007, page 25). It is discoidal with a central hole measuring 9.19mm in diameter. It is 22.64mm in diameter and 6.87mm thick on one side and 5.0mm on the opposite side. It weighs 19.3gms. The whorl has a white patina. Compare SWYOR-9909E4.
