Object type: DRESS FASTENER (UNKNOWN)
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Lancashire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Very worn fragment of the central part of a hook-and-loop fastener dating to the late medieval or post medieval period. Both the hook and loop are missing and the remaining plaque is very worn and thin around the edges. The remaining fragment is round and what is left of the decoration is only fragmentary, too. The decoration was geometric in relief, most likely, rather than figurative.
