A lead or lead alloy sphere of unknown purpose and unknown age. It is highly unlikely to be cannon shot for a couple of reasons. Firstly it does not conform to any known bore of the seventeenth century or later. Secondly, it is not solid lead as it is too light for its size. This latter fact also excludes a lot of the other usual uses for lead balls. The comparatively low weight may be due to the construction of the sphere or it may be manufactured from a lighter alloy. Roman to Post Medieval bell shaped lead-alloy or lead suspended weight. At the apex of the 'bell' are the remnants of the trapped iron suspension loop. Hard to date with any precision but it probably dates to between c43 and c1750 AD. The height is 39mm, diameter is 26mm and the weight is 104.52g. Similar records on the database include SUSS-A5CAE4 and LEIC-074C28.

It has an external diameter of 21mm, and the central perforation has a maximum diameter of 6mm. The weight has seen a lot of use and has suffered damage and wear. In the "Finds Recording Guide", Geake (2001, p66) points out that: "The function of lead weights would have varied, from spindle-whorls to fishing weights to trade weights." Lead or lead alloy fragment of an unknown date, possibly casting waste or a partially melted or miscast object. It does appears to have deliberately cast holes, similar to the openwork style, and possible ring and dot decoration. Its original intended purpose is unknown but if it isn't casting waste it could be part of a Late Early Medieval to early Medieval strap-end of Thomas's Class E, similar to LANCUM-2409F1 but cast in lead. A fragment of a lead alloy object of uncertain date and function. The object is sub-oval in plan and is D-shaped in cross-section. The outer face is decorated with a central vertical rib, from which extend diagonal ridges forming a herringbone pattern. Above the herringbone are eye-like raised pellets on each side of the central rib. The top of the object above the pellets is rounded and undecorated. The rear of the object is undecorated and flat. A complete lead alloy weight with iron rod through the centre, that dates from the Roman period onwards (c.AD 43-1700). The weight is conical in shape with a pointed apex and a circular flat base. An iron rod channels through the centre of the object and significantly protrudes from the from base end and is visible at the tip of the apex. Unusual lead alloy mount of unknown date and period it appears to be in the form a medal decorated with a swastika. The stamped cross is more consistent with a later Medieval style, suggesting it dates to the 12th to 16th Centuries AD. The pendant is a mid grey in colour, with an even surface patina. A direct parallel for this find has not been located at the time of recording.
