Cast copper alloy unlooped palstave axe probably dating to the Middle Bronze Age palstave 1450 to 1200BC. The axe shares similarities with the Taunton metalwork assemblage and Hotham related to the palstaves of the Acton Park metalwork assemblage to which it bears some resemblance similar to Needham et al fig 140 (1985) and Read (1995: p.3 fig 9 ). The axe is almost complete with a length of 123mm. The butt is slightly concave and has a width of 20mm. A Bronze Age copper alloy chisel fragment. The chisel is incomplete only the blade survives. It is sub-trapezoid in plan, the straight sides flaring from the break towards the convex cutting edge. The piece is of thin, flat section, tapering at the edges. The blade thins to 2mm thick at the cutting edge. It is heavily corroded, with only very small fragments of the original surface remaining. Probably a Bronze Age turquoise green/blue faience annular bead. It is irregularly shaped, sub circular in plan and in section. There is no apparent decoration. To make it the the molten faience would have been twisted and rolled around a rod that would then be withdrawn leaving the central hole. Elizabeth Foulds says that the bead is not distinctly Iron Age or Roman but if it is faience then Bronze Age is a possibility.
