A barbed and tanged arrowhead, formed by knapping. It is made of a pale semi- transluscent flint with some inclusions. It is slightly flatter on one side then the other, and the tip of one of the barbs is missing. Having been found near a beach it has been worn so no sharp edge remains, but the shape is consistent. Arrowheads such as these, see also NMGW-24C12C, are classified as Sutton Type B (Green 1980) are commonly associated with the emergence of the Beaker phenomenon in Britain. The scraping edge has been formed with semi-invasive, sub-parallel, semi-abrubt removals along the curved edge. A small gouge or burin has also been fashioned on one of the 'corners' of the flake.
