Slightly damaged cast copper alloy spectacle or double-loop oval buckle frame that is plano-convex in section with a bevelled inner edge and a recessed pin bar with moulded knops at either end of the bar. The pin is still present. There appears to be traces of black lacquer on parts of the upper face of the frame where some of the original surface remains. The central strap fitting is still present, folded around the spindle. Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar example on page 54, No.308, which is dated from c.1500-1650.
