A spindle whorl made from a piece of Roman Samian ware pottery. It is slightly concave. There is no decoration, and the edges are chipped all of the way round the outside on the underside, and in a few discreet areas on the surface. The whorl may post date the Roman period as the central hole is not at the smallest end of the spectrum for a Roman date. One of very similar shape and dimensions is recorded as PUBLIC-DD674B Dimensions: 38mm diameter and 9mm thick, the central hole is 7mm diameter and it weighs 13.79g

A section of what is probably a knee or trumpet type early Roman brooch. The head is circular and behind it are the remains of the fixing plate for the spring. This is a raised rectangular section which fills the full diameter of the head and would have extended perhaps 3mm or 4mm upright. The remains of this have a worn curve in the centre which would have formed a fixing hole when complete. A copper alloy possible polyhedral weight. It is basically a cylindrical shape but is faceted unevenly on all sides. Half of the faces have a pattern of parallel lines on them. Overall it has an even green patina, the incised lines have orange soil in them. It has a sheen to it and if made of lead this would be unusual, it is suspected though because of the weight that it is a lead alloy but with a greater proportion of another metal in it, hence designation as copper alloy. A cylindrical metal alloy bar with a pattern at either end. The pattern consists of a 'marigold' shape of eight equally spaced pointed petals. These are seen on bracelet terminals (Youngs, S. A  copper alloy collared pin head. The head is basically of the globular headed type as defined by Haldenby, although it has longitudinal facets on the lower half of the sphere. The top is also has a flat face and there may have been some faceting on the top half of the head but this is not certain. Haldenby states that the examples he examined came from the east of England (Yorkshire) and are later in the series which is dated to the 9th century AD Dimensions: It is 14mm long, the head is 10mm in diameter and weighs 3.48g

A  copper alloy object. It is sub rectangular in shape, one of the long sides has two sloping elements which form a shallow central point, both the short sides slope outwards to the bottom.
