Post-medieval silver hammered groat of Mary I dating from 1553-54, mm pomegranate (after first word of legend).
I have examined 13 early post-medieval coins reported found in the Lancaster Area of Lancashire. They are official English silver coins, and will thus have a silver content of 92.5% fine metal - the sterling standard. A summary list of the coins follows (a more detailed catalogue is attached to this report).
